High School

Raymond Febus - HS Science/PE

I was born in South Korea and was adopted when I was 3 months old by an American family living near Portland, Oregon. I gave my life to Christ when I was a junior in high school and do my best to faithfully follow and serve Christ today. I went to the University of Washington, in Seattle, Washington and received my Bachelors of Science degree in microbiology. After completing my undergraduate degree I began doing research at NOAA for 2 years, then switched to another biotechnical company developing anti-cancer drug treatments. Finally, I went to UCSF Orthopedic Surgery Department doing MRI research. I came to Korea and received my Masters in Developmental Genetics and have worked at a kindergarten teaching science, gym, and cooking before coming to ICSP.

Rebecca Gaul - HS Math

Miss Gaul is ICS-P's high school math teacher. She began at ICS in 2014 and is teaching Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2, PreCalculus, and AP Calculus. She graduated from Asbury University in May 2014 with a Bachelor's of Science in Secondary Math Education. She received her teaching certificate from the state of Virginia to teach 8th - 12th grade math.

Hannah Hannings - HS Spanish/Curriculum Assistant

Mrs. Hannings is from Knoxville, Tennessee and graduated from the University of Tennessee in 2010 with a B.A. in Spanish and World Business. In 2012, she received her Tennessee teacher license and spent the next 3 years teaching high school Spanish. She also received her Tennessee teacher license in K-12 English as a second language before moving to Korea in 2015. Outside of school, she enjoys being outside, playing sports, spending time with friends over a good cup of coffee, and spending time with her husband, Ricky, and dog, Macy. She loves getting to share life with her students and is looking forward to her third year at ICS-P!

Ryan Kolbe - HS Social Studies

Mr. Kolbe graduated from Taylor University in 2004 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Social Studies Education. He currently holds a license from the State of Indiana to teach secondary Social Studies with an emphasis in World Civilizations, World Geography, and United States History. From August of 2005 to June of 2009, Mr. Kolbe taught at the International Academy of Suriname in Suriname, South America. He currently is in his eighth year at ICS-Pyeongtaek.

Collin Thornton - HS English

Mr. Thornton graduated from Point Loma Nazarene University with a degree in Literature and English Education in 2005. He then completed a professional teacher licensure program with Point Loma Nazarene University Graduate Studies and received a professional teaching credential for English. Mr. Thornton has taught in San Diego and Los Angeles, California and has 7 years of teaching experience overseas in Asia. He has taught all levels of education in Thailand, from kindergarten to University, and has most recently spent two years teaching in China at Guangdong Country Garden School, an International Baccalaureate World School. Mr. Thornton now lives in Pyeongtaek with his wife Amy and two children, Ethan and Elly.

Barry Wolfer - MS & HS Bible

Hailing from the temperate paradise known as Oregon, Mr. Wolfer feels right at home amidst the rice fields of Pyeongtaek. With a deep desire to learn the world around him, he also feels right at home studying the Bible alongside students. He desires to pursue God and truth and looks forward to continuing life's journey with the students at ICS-P. Despite a lifetime of learning and studying, Mr. Wolfer has few things figured out, but rests contentedly in God's sovereign control.

Middle School

Jonathan Edwards - MS Social Studies and Science Teacher

Jonathan Edwards graduated from James Madison University with a Bachelors degree in Social Work and is currently working on his Masters degree in Elementary Education from Grand Canyon University. Jonathan has his certificate to teach from Oklahoma. Jonathan enjoys teaching middle school students as they grow in their independence and responsibility in order to succeed in high school.

Jon Greener - MS English, Social Studies, and Athletic Director

Jonathan Greener is the MS English and MS English Language Development (ELD) teacher at ICSP. Also, he is the head boys' basketball coach and Athletic Director (AD). This is his third year at ICS-P and this year he will have two young Conquerors at school with him-- Eva (G3) is being joined by little bro, Nate (K5). Mr. Greener has a Master's of Education in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (TESOL) from Seattle University & a Bachelor of Arts in English Language Arts (certified to teach 4-12 English, journalism, speech, drama, & coach sports) from Washington State University. He has over 10 years of English teaching experience in Korea and this will be his 5th year teaching at an international school on the peninsula. Coach Greener is looking forward to a great year at ICS-P in the classroom and on the court! GO CONQUERORS!

Ricky Hannings - MS Teacher

Mr. Hannings is from Knoxville, Tennessee, home of the Smoky Mountains and the world famous University of Tennessee, from which he graduated in 2011. He worked for 3 years with elementary children at an After School Program before finishing his Masters of Education in 2014. He has taught for three years--one year in Tennessee and 2 years now at International Christian School. He enjoys playing games of all kinds, and is passionate about connecting students to the past and present and ultimately to the person of Jesus Christ.

Elementary

Tina Cho - Kindergarten

Tina Cho has a bachelor's degree in elementary education from Faith Baptist Bible College and a master's degree in Effective teaching, learning, and leadership from Drake University in Iowa. Before moving to ICS Pyeongtaek, she taught for 11 years in the U.S. and one year at ICS Uijongbu, South Korea. Tina is also an author and enjoys creating a passion for learning in young children. Most of all, she loves teaching kids about God.

Amanda Hunter - First Grade

Ms. Hunter was born in Atlanta, Georgia and was raised in the Bermuda Islands. She graduated from The Citadel, Military College of South Carolina in 2008, with a B.A. in History. She moved to Korea shortly after graduation in 2009, and has taught English in Korean preschools for 6 years in and around Seoul before pursuing certification as an early childhood instructor. Ms. Hunter returned to school in 2015 to complete a Graduate Diploma in Early Childhood Studies at Edith Cowan University in Perth, Australia. She is excited to be a part of the spiritual and academic journeys of each one of the fantastic, first graders this year!

Alexi Dather - Second Grade

Alexi is from Conway, Arkansas, where she graduated from the University of Central Arkansas with a Bachelor of Science in Early Childhood Education in December of 2015. She is certified in PK-4th. After graduating from UCA, she was the director over a summer reading program as well as an after-school tutoring program through a non-profit organization called City of Hope Outreach. She has a passion for teaching and helping students to see the value and potential in themselves and others.

Janet Colgain - Third Grade

Miss Colgain grew up in northern Virginia and holds a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education from Cedarville University. She taught in Uijongbu for five years, Virginia for four years and is happy to be back in Korea once again. Miss Colgain enjoys watching sports events, baking, and singing Bible songs with students in the classroom.

Laura Johnson - Fourth Grade

Laura has a desire to help the future leaders of our world to love learning and to love people. I want to help all my students to succeed and to reach their goals. She feels that it is her obligation to teach her students to become independent thinkers and to be followers of truth. She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Johnson Bible College in Florida.

Hollie Gross - Fifth Grade

Before completing her B. A. Elementary Education degree from the University of Arizona, Hollie worked as a full time musician, writing for and teaching music to performing arts groups. She also served as choir director, and an artist in residence in several schools. Hollie is passionate about making a difference in the lives of her students. She is the wife of a retired military member, a mother of four, and she feels blessed to be a part of the ICS family.

Specials

Romie V. Dale Amos - ELD Coordinator/Teacher

Romie (Dale) Amos was born and raised in Louisiana. After high school, she joined the Air Force where she began working toward a Bachelor's of Arts degree in Sociology. Dale finally completed her degree in 2004 after traveling around the world with her husband, Joe and giving birth to their three sons. She then worked as a Substitute teacher while she completed the alternate teaching certification program. She has received her teaching certification in Special Education (EC-12), English Language Arts and Reading (4-8), and General Education (EC-4). Dale taught in the States for 9 years before beginning her journey of teaching internationally the past three years; one year in Kuwait (bilingual school) and two years in China (IB school).

Jennifer Kim - Music

Ms. Jennifer Kim is a cellist, and a music educator. Her musical journey started when she was 5 years old. Ms. Kim attended Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, Maryland for her Bachelor's Degree in Cello performance. Then she continued to study more at Manhattan School of Music in New York where she did her Master’s Degree. In addition, Ms. Kim did music education program at Peabody conservatory and holds K-12 Music Teaching Certificate issued by the state of Maryland. She has taught many students privately and in groups including the experience of directing a youth string orchestra in a church.

Kathy Lee - Korean Culture/Art Teacher

Kathy Lee graduated from SungShin Women's University with a Bachelor's Degree, majoring in Fine Arts. She also completed her certification for TESOL, TESOL for Young Learners, and English Reading Instructor for Young Learners at HanKuk University of Foreign Studies in Korea and she has a Korean language instructor's certificate from Yonsei University. Altogether, she has over 9 years of English teaching experience from children to adults. Currently, Ms. Lee is teaching Korean & Korean Culture to grades K through 5. Ms. Lee is the Art teacher at ICS-P for grades K-12. Her passion is to teach, love, and help children to grow in their spiritual walk.

Ti Na Lee - Librarian

Mrs. Lee grew up in Washington State and graduated from the University of Washington with her degree in General Asian Studies in 2004. She, later, went back to school to get her masters in Education and TESOL in 2012. She likes to read biographies and books about history. Mrs. Lee is delighted to be at ICSP!

John Richards - IT Director, MS Math, and Computer Specials

Mr. Richards retired from the US Army in 1989 after 20 years and worked as a government contractor for 15 years before joining NICS in 2004. He spent 5 years in Seoul at our sister school (ICS-Seoul/YISS) as the computer teacher/IT director and 1 year with the NICS school in Belem, Brazil before joining us here in 2010. He is accompanied by his wife Pamela. Mr. Richards is currently pursuing a Master's of Education in Secondary Education with Grand Canyon University.
